I am looking at getting a set of these for my XTX as I like the look. They aren't too big and obvious but look like doing the job.

Has anyone had any experience of fitting these to the Xor R. It looks like you have to take exhaust the downpipes off as one of the tubes goes behind them.

Got these on my bike and easy job. I stacked it at about 50 and the bike went sliding up the road and the bars saved the engine no question at all. Money well spent.

Cheers for the feedback, I'll have to see about getting these come payday. Can you confirm that the exhaust does have to come off?

A least I can justify spending this money on the bike.

you will just have to remove lambda.

If the lambda sensor is the thing on the lhs header pipe, then i don't even have one to move as mines an 06 XTX. i don't think these appeared until 07.

Hiya Bishop, can you let us know how you get on with these bars if and when you plump for them? I want some protection so I'm not paranoid if pottering down the lanes and aren't sure whether to go for bars or bash plate or both.

If your taking it easy you shouldnt need a bash plate but anything sort of rough, with large fist size rock you might want to invest in a bash plate as well as bar.

Either that or try and get one of those huge Touratech bash plates as about �100 as i think they cover everything the bars do

Bishop, it's a bit tricky at first but when you get the hang of it it's pretty easy to remove/install. Word of warning, they are prone to cracking at the point of contact with the bike. I've had mine welded three times in as many years. Best thing to do is try source some rubber washers for the bolts, and where the two bars meet to reduce vibration.

I'll post an update when I get around to it. I need to get Christmas out of the way and sort impending baby finances. But I want to get bars sorted as financial as well as bike protection.

Thanks for the reply, the intention is just nice bimbly lanes. However as I don't know them and am just going off the map they don't always turn out that way...stranded my KLX650 on its sump guard more than once all part of the fun!

I should just stop being such a scrooge and perhaps get the big mo-fo TT bash plate you mention.
