Enduro 3 Sahara's
Hi everyone,
My XTR has recovered from major surgery now. Currently running on motoCross tyres. Still yet to take it out for a thrashing, but problem is obviously not road legal rubber. Last 2500kms has been purely off road. Back yard straight onto dirt track. I occassionally have to fill with petrol, and a run to the shops etc, so I am looking for a tyre that fulfills 95% off and 5% on road. I am interested in the Metzeler Enduro 3 Sahara....... Anybody ever had this fitted to their XTR? The standard tyre is too slippery off road, just too many offs. The M/Cross is just bloody dangerous on tarmac! Checked through this site, but no mention of this tyre. Waiting for a further 2 parts for my bike from a fantastic dealer....Flitwick Motorcycles. They have been so helpful, responsive, to all my quierys, and the mail order to Spain incredibally quick, and excellent packaging. Will always use them in the future for spares....Don't reckon it will be long now anyway before I need their services again! Any first hand info on the Enduro 3 much appreciated. |

Off-road on an 'X'
Zappamoon,
How does an 'X' go off-road? I'm torn between the 'X' and 'R' and one idea was an 'X' on something like saharas. I'd only do gentle stuff anyway. I prefer the look of the 'X' but like the idea of the flexibility of the 'R'. Have you tried an 'R' offroad? NeilSmiff |

Hi there.
I was green laning my XTR last season and started using the TKC80's - too much mud in the area resulted in me trying Pirelli MT21's - much better but with the 17inch rear you'll find tyres a comprimise. I know have a DRZE as my laning bike and I can get 2 tyres for 65 and I can get any make. Best of luck to you on laning the XTR and let us know which tyres you end up with. Matt

I would agree with Mat.
You don't have to much mud in Spain,so the TKC 80s would be a good choise, they are good on the dirt and on also work very well on Tarmac. I found This site to offer the best Price. http://www.mynetmoto.com/index.cfm |

Hello Guys,
I used this make on my first XT 600 and did a long trip on the Pyrenees on and off road. I didn't like them, very unsafe on the tarmac, slipery, and not very effective offroad. I now use Metzeler Karoo and Michelin T66, very good on all conditions, except on wet tarmac, them I leave my XTR at home... Curious to use the Continental, maybe next time. Cheers, FH |
