How does an 'X' go off-road?

I'm torn between the 'X' and 'R' and one idea was an 'X' on something like saharas.

I'd only do gentle stuff anyway. I prefer the look of the 'X' but like the idea of the flexibility of the 'R'.

Have you tried an 'R' offroad?
