Michelin SIRAC's
I got these as standard on my ten, just wondered, does anyone rate them? as I think they are fab on the road and great off it for a dual purpose tyre, well.....as long as the off road sections stay dry otherwise its a bit of a rollerskate on ice!!!
I really do think I have more confidence in them than I did my Pirelli Diablo stradas I had on my SV and as a result I am cornering quicker on the Ten even in the wet!!!

I find them great on the road wet or dry, haven't really put them to the test off road to be honest.

Ask Stoicbloke, he was on Siracs in the Lakes - I can confirm he never had any trouble keeping the pace.
Here's another one on Siracs (I think he was anyway) - Chekamus 
If you're in the mud then the dual sport tyres just don't cut it, but for most trail stuff, up here in the lakes anyway, they are fine. The manual suggest a slight drop in pressure, but these guys had just spent all morning on the motorways and then straight into some off-road stuff, so I'm not so sure....

what was the other tyre fitted as standard? was it tourances or sumfen and are they anygood also? I wonder why they changed them, supply and demand issues maybe?

good photos GULG, look like you all had a ball, and some good trails as well. I said to the missus the last time we where in the lakes that i will need to take the bike next time, this just confirmed it.
Also, is it just the angle the photo was taken at or does chekamus have band extra bright headlight?

Most of my riding is road/motorway and I've recently changed my Siracs for a set of Bt45 road based tyres. The BT45's might have more grip in the dry (not that the sirac was lacking) but the Sirac certainly seems to have the edge in the wet (and why I'm trying the BT45s in the summer not over the winter month).

Great tyre's wet or dry on tarmac.
Done 4000 miles.Must be 2-3000 miles left.

Split sidewall
Just noticed the sidewall on my front has two small splits!
I guess this could be caused by the dealer if they fit the tyre before hand over or maybe by some spaniard in the factory? anyway the bike had done just 400 miles when I noticed it. Any idea if this would be covered by any warranty or sale of goods rights? |
