mods for siberia

i,ve recently bought an 07 R, I,m meeting walter colebatch of "SIBIRSKY EXTREME.com in vanin on the pacific in july and riding along the bam railway to novobirsk around 2500mls of the unknown. The biggest problem i think will be carrying enough fuel, has anyone here any idea of what sort of mpg on rough tracks i can expect.? The otr tank is currently 900eu. which is out of the question. I believe someone had a can made up to replace the left hand silencer, but that thread has been blocked from me.
Any help will be gratefully received.

Firstly, welcome to the club.

Not sure how much a full tank will take you on rough tracks, but I got around 180kms before the reserve light came on when riding on muddy fire trails.

The fuel tank you mentioned will only work if you have a 2-1 system, ie. no can on the left side of the bike

here are the pics you looking after. This can is special made by my dearest friend Hartger ( http://hartgers-radiateuren.nl/; Hartger rerouted my radiator pipe for the custom 2in1 Trinity system). It can carry extra 5ltr of fuel; not connected with the main tank so you have to do some magic
Like Denny already said, you need a 2in1 system for this mod.

Cheers.

Thanks for your replys, i think it would be wise to allow an extra 7/10ltrs, i know theres one stretch between where the train stops ,of around 300mls.whats between there i don,t yet know. That exhaust mod seems great but a slightly different shape, i want to keep as light as poss. and the weight as low as poss.

I don't know if ya run panniers, if so ya could attach a plastic jerrycans to it(2x2,5lt will give ya 20lt, that'll get ya about at least 400km's far). This is done a lot, by enduro riders with small tanks. They come in different sizes, the choice is yours. Good luck and ride safe!
