tyres

Right, I need help, my back tyre a Avon Distanzia is in need of replacing, the tread had almost gone on the top of the tyre, and it wold probably have lasted a bit longer if I checked my tyre pressure, but silly me did not check it since they were fitted, and have been riding round on 8 psi for god knows how long. I now need to replace front and back now as no where can get a rear Distazia and my I need my bike back on the road now, it wont hold any pressure for long, but I should get a short steady ride to the garage but thats it. Im a total noob when it comes to bikes so please can the forum point me in the right direction with a good chioce of tyres for the front and back.

If you are losing pressure quite quickly (within a few hours) remember that your inner tubes are what hold the air and if you have been riding with 8lb in then it will have probably been 'crushed'. A new inner tube will keep your tyre going (at a slow and steady pace) until you can find the tyre you want. Just make sure you keep them properly inflated and be careful on a tyre that is probably sidewall damaged as well.

Yes if i put air in it will hold for a hour or so, I just want to get to a garage and get a new set on, but need to know a good choice ASAP, would like to stick to the Distanzias but thats not a option at the moment, I ride every day all weathers so need a good replacment for the Distanzia.

Jason,

Have a look at the Dunlop Roadsmart.

They're dual compound so the rear lasts a long time, I've done about 800 miles on mine and its still a nice round shape.
