Brake lines..upgrade?
Im wondering if changing the original brake lines to stainless steel will be of any benefit...
I know they will look trick but will they actually help the braking.? I have gone through the EBC HH pads in less than 3 thousand miles but at 14.15 a pair delivered I can live with that.. WRONG SECTION..SORRY.PLEASE MOVE IF POSSIBLE. |

I read somewhere that if you grip the brake line and then squeeze the lever and can feel a pulsing bulge (did I really say that?) in the brake line, it's a sign of a weak line. I also think there is a shelf life on the brake lines, which isn't that long. Gotta say though, there's zillions of mid nineties bikes still being ridden on old hoses. Personally I love my braided lines, although they were ace when new, they probably need a bleed now. So in effect mine are all show.

I recommend the stainless breaklines - you have a much finer pressurepoint at breaking. they are tighter than the original (aged) lines and hold for a long time. My back-brake on the 660Z was just in mode: off or really fast fully on. There the difference was significant. In front just finer to handle.
I'm riding them on all bikes.

Brake lines..upgrade?
Hi.
Thinking of getting these for my XT660Z. (Wezmoto ones). Does anyone have any pictures of them fitted? Interested in the routing for the front and the colors either black or SS/Transparent! Thanks in advance Last edited by sconav; 24-11-18 at 21:33. |

I got black as I wanted them to be unobtrusive and tbh most of my bikes black too.
Fitting wise they follow the same route as the originals .If your unclear then take some photos. Top tip..hold the front lever back to the bars for a few hours, with a cable tie. You could also use a flat vibrating sanding plate held against the calipers and lines to aide the air to flow upwards.Old skool tech but it works. |

Thanks for the reply. Think Im leaning toward the black as well. It was more to do with the front line routing as in the description on EBay it states The kit comprises of two lines for the front of the bike which both travel from the master cylinder direct This is what confused me as on the Z there is only one banjo at the master cylinder and it splits further down. Can anyone shed any light? Thanks again |
