stiff clutch lever operation
Over the past few months I have noticed I need more force to operate the clutch lever.
Thought perhaps my muscles are shrinking! I concluded this is not the case since I am not experiencing the same on my other bike. Any thoughts on reducing the clutch lever effort? I have adjusted the free play (cable adjusted at both ends) spray lubed the lever and engine ends thanks |

have thought of taking the cable off and cleaning it through with cheap wd or similar and letting it drain..then use something with ptfe in it to lube it..
or a new nylon lined cable... |

thanks for the feedback
I don't know if I can slide the cable off completely without removing the end stoppers What you say will ultimately show the condition of the cable. But I am being lazy and putting off getting my fingers oily The reason for the question was to see if there was potentially a deeper mechanical issue |

buy a cable luber...
fits/clamp onto the end then you spray crc/wd40 though it and it goes down the cable don't have to remove the cable from the bike...just unconect it at each end... These..... https://www.motionpro.com/product/08-0182 ..

that sounds great.
I am weary of gadgets a bit because a lot of times they are money down the drain but will go down this road since you recommended it |

I released the cable and poured some paraffin inside to clean. Then put in some spray lube (not wd40)
the cable moves freely inside the guide, I could not feel any resistance and the clutch lever (engine end) is also very light to operate with one finger! ONce I reinstalled the cable ends and set the free play, the stiffness came back So I guess I am loosing some muscle strength in my forearm! Tennis elbow??? |
