XT660X Stage 2 HotCam New Zealand
So I had what I think was the decomp pin causing a rattle and decided if I was going in there to look at that area of the bike I would fit a stage 2 cam
![]() First mistake I made was I assumed you got the Raptor 660 cam but after ordering one and it arriving from the states I discovered that was an erroneous assumption and had to send it back and order the 700 raptor hotcam While I was checking part numbers I discovered that the grizzly 700 uses the same decomp mechanism as the Raptor and bought a worn complete grizzly cam for $30nzd to rob it of the decomp mechanism to fit to the hotcam ![]() |

The correct cam arrived from the states today so I put her in and fired her up after work, got to the point of tank on and running and decided I had won. Just plastics and seat to go on now

Hotcam installed you can see that the timing mark doesn't line up 100% with the pointer cast into the head and it didn't when I pulled it apart. If you look carefully you can see where I scratched a line in the head to show where the cam mark lined up to when I disassembled the motor. If you go one tooth either way it is miles off, must be due to wear in the cam chain.
