Touratech seat High or Standard

Hi folks new to the forum. Just picked a 2010 xt660z and looking to replace the seat with one of the touratech ones.
Im 6.4 and not a fan of the stock seat. I was looking at getting the high seat as I dont like being stuck in one position and like to be able to move about when riding for a few hours. I ride 95% on road so I am not sure which one to go for. Ive seen some people say the standard is great as its wider but From what ive seen most folk prefer the high for off road just wanted to see what other folk think before I burst that amount of cash.
Any advice would be great thanks. I got some money knocked off the purchase due to the seat so I have the cash for a nice fancy one.
All the other bikes ive owned have had rubbish seats this is the first bike ive owned with actual aftermarket seats available.

Just get it. You will not believe how much better it is. I'm 6ft and on the standard version which is fine for me. If I had more money and bought new I'd def have the high version so you can move around. And at 6.4 you need to stretch those knees

I have the 'high' version and, as Jacques has a suggested, it money well worth spending - your body will be thankful for your investment (whichever version you choose).

However, I wouldn't pay full UK Touratech price (you don't need to). Either keep an eye on ebay, or get one from a third party supplier in mainland Europe which will save you the best part of 100.

I paid around 250 for mine brand new a couple of years ago (the then TT price was 379!) I bought it Honing Motorrad. The price differential isn't what it was, but its still a BIG saving.

Alternatively buy a Kahedo (who make the seats for Touratech), either direct from them or from OTR. The snag with this is that to make the saving you have to send your existing seat in exchange - you don't with the TT option from Honing Motorrad.

Anyway, to cut a long story short - shop around!

Thumbs up

hi

The good arguments are already given bei Pleiades and Jacques.
just search and find one for a reasonable price.
I'll never would take my old seat back - and take the higher one -
it's round cutten in the front that the space for the legs is given
and the "grip" on it is fantastic.

cheers, Andy

Thanks for the advice. I will defo shop around for the best price. Cant send the seat off as its my only mode of transport. I will keep an eye on ebay and other sites for one. Next job is to fit some panniers and a scottoiler the money never stays in the bank for long with a new bike lol.
