Looking for a bit of guidance here folks. I'm in two minds to sell my ten but I'm not sure on value.
It has some nice parts; Nitron race shock, Akra pipe, renthal bars and a mesh lamp guard but it also has high miles; 50,000. Been serviced to schedule and look after but it has been used all weathers and it shows.

Very difficult to say. Every area of the country seems to throw up different values and, at the end of the day, any bike is only ever worth what the buyer is prepared to pay. Looking at advertised bike prices is not really that helpful either as many don't sell at all at their list price, or sell for a lot less.

All I can suggest is doing a bit of role play. Go to your nearest Yamaha dealer, pretend you want to trade it in for a new Tenere (or something of similar value, say around the �6-6.5K mark) and see what they'll give you part exchange. Generally the private sale value is between 50 and 75% more than their trade in value. At least it'll give you a starting point based on your local market.

I used to have a friend in the trade who could look in the Parkers, but that's years ago. I was ballpark figure of �2-2.5k. Will see what trade offers.

Mine's the same as yours(no mods apart from mtc pipe) with 45k and I was thinking around �2500 .

No plans to sell just yet .

When you think these sold for �4700ish in 08, I've seen a few low milers advertised lately for around 4 grand.... not bad if they actually fetch that.

I got a trade in quote on mine against a new TA....... �1500ish

Say offer against a S10 from another dealer.

Neither was interested in the extras, both recommended removal and returning the bike to standard, and the offer was based on that.

Anyway - the Ten is staying, but the NC750 (WHAT the hell was I thinking when I bought that) and the Crosstourer might transform into a GS, or a TA in the near future.....
