Today, after removing the rear shock of my 2009 XT660Z, I found this part below the airfilter housing. Near the speed sensor on the left side of the engine casing.

It looks like some rubber plug from the airfilter housing. But I'm even not sure it is a part of the bike. It could also be something I dropped in the garage.

Does anyone know where this part belongs?

I don't recognise it as part of the airbox, intake or fuel system? Can't recall anywhere else it could have come from either?

I went through the xt660z parts catalogue and and could find it so I think it is something I dropped above the bike that doesn't belong to the bike.

I would guess that it's the blanking plug that fits on the breather on the battery and someone has dropped it down and not bothered to retirieve it.
Put it somewhere 'safe' and forget about it in my opinion.
