Seized front caliper?

G'DAY Folks, I loaded a pic of my XT, make it worth opening in case you can't help but I seem to not be able to load a pic anymore : $..

Anyhow (XTX) I pulled her down out of the van and the front caliper is seized hard. All in good nick, fine when I put the bike in the van, it's just impossibly stuck now. I gave it a wack, it's not loosening. Will I need to pull pads out? Why would this happen? Cheers!

Thanks mate, I did some further reading, pretty common. I'll probably need new pins it seems. Crazy, fine one minute then it's stuck fast.

And something Crazier!

I'd managed to roll it about to try to loosen the caliper but it wouldn't budbge. It was stuck in my drive and staying there. I sat it on the centre stand and came in to search what was needed before pulling it down (or lifting a spanner).

It was stuck fast when I left it!

When I dropped it of the stand just now to remove the caliper bolts- it was free as if nothing happened...

Which is pretty cool but I hope it's not going to seize on under use

Well, another update, rode out the gate an smack onto the hardtop.

When I tried to turn the front wheel locked. The problem iv'e now sorted was actually in the lever. It was a bit loose and a bit of sliding around they actually find a position where the clamp (for the cylinder/mirror) will stop the front brake from releasing. I'd looked at it but it seemed ok, in position so didn't think twice.
