Error Code Er-4
I have Yamaha XT660x from 06. Someone tried to rob it few weeks ago. I got it going again. However, in the mean time, when I was fixing others bit. I damage the fuel pump pipe and the fuel start to leak out. I fix that problem and put the tank back on the bike.
However, this time bike didnt start. fuel pump seems to be okay, however I checked the diagnose mode and it showed me Error Code Er-4. I dont have the clue what it means. I checked it workshop manual, but the defintion didnt help me a lot. Maybe anyone had this problem before and got the solution? I would be really pleased if you would gave me any ideas what to check or whatever. Because, I am out the road for 4months and if that will last much longer I will go psycho Last edited by Pleiades; 17-08-13 at 21:07. |

Er-4 is a fault code flagged up by bad wiring, when the ECU can't communicate with the injection system, or instrument cluster.
It is highly likely that you disturbed a connector, a connector is corroded, or you trapped a wire or forgot to refit a connector when you removed/refitted the tank. |

Cheers for the clue, I am really new in motorbike electricity. Could you tell me more specifically which wire loops should I check. I would be really pleased. Anyway, I will double check all the connectors and have a look on the cables. But there is so many that I just didnt know where to start and how to check it with multimeter.
Edit : I checking cables, but I still cant find anything helpfull in workshop could anyone help where I should look for wiring testing procedure Last edited by Kaplan; 19-08-13 at 15:11. |
