Hello from Gold Coast, QLD Australia
Been looking for a worthy XT660R for a while and finally found a very cheap broken one, a repairable write off which was missing a lot of bits.
This is what it was This is what it is now Roadworthy is done, but have another couple of weeks before the QLD Transport vehicle inspection to get it off the repairable write off register. Once that is done I have a few farkles to go on, incouding MotoMule 2in1 exhaust, OTR bashplate, OTR rally fairing, etc, etc. Cheers Robo |

Hey thanks for the welcome fellas, like the way you do that, makes me want to post some more info.
Straightening the sub frame was truly an effort, when I thought I had gone way to far with the block and tackle and smashed the joints with a hammer to release the bend, I'd let it off to check and it would spring back to it's original bent form. I had the rear wheel tied to a post, the left frame to another post and the subframe tied to another via the come along and then with a small porta power doing the cross brace under the seat. No wonder the XT660R is so heavy, it has one hell of a solid frame. This is the neighbourooney giving me a hand, 35 degree heat makes one drink a lot of beer. |
