Luggage Top Plate in alu for XT660Z

Ok, I made a model after a couple of measurements and paper templates...

And this is what I come up to, please let me know what you think and if you have some improvement ideas that I could do!

Look greats.

Ive been doing the same thing just lately, just been mocking one up in carboard (used the touratech one as a starting point).

i want mine to support roll bags. so the main difference im going for over the touratech one is making it wider to help support the roll bag. Also making it slightly more of a square shape (apart from where it fits to the bike near the pillion seat)

If anyone could add a decent grab rail to one of these, I'd be seriously interested. The grab handles on the Ten are the main cause of complaint from both my wife and my son, so I need an alternative.

I will look into that, but I want it as simple and cheap as possible, thats why there is no folded edge at all on the extender... Also I dont know yet exactly how long the extender will reach. As you say I dont want it to be to close to the driver. Partly because of the safety, and partly because it would be difficult to get on the bike if it is to close!

Base plate is now perfect for me!

Extension plate could be wider if you put dry bag across, reason - not to sag on hot pipes. Just an idea. Maybe you can build wide tipe and long type of extension, so choice for all customers wishes.

Great!
No, I will only do one type of extension plate.... I will look into what size it would be soon! There will be some modifications on the length and width and also how it will be mounted!
