I have a new pair of Fly boots.. they are a pain at the moment.. used them for 4 rides... they are softer now.. but still to stiff... they will soften up quickest if you get them wet while rideing.."rivers/mud etc" I run the gear lever quite high.. makes it easyer to get the boot under it.. Pivit pegs help aswell... MX boots might have not been a good choice for a XTX Road boots are softer from the start..

Search some of kevs posts from a long time back he had that problem I think he just took the gear shifter off put it in a vice and bent it up half a spline.

I bought some Alpinestars off road durban boots and had the same problem due to the boot being thicker than my road boots.
I find it difficult getting the top of the boot under the gear lever when on the footrest so change gear with the inside edge as oppossed to the top of the boot. Works well, took a bit of getting used too but now I do it with out thinking. |
