Pricing of Yamahas in Europe

Dear All, I live in Roma but generally purchase my bikes in the UK, at least until now!!!!

Look at what the Euro to Pound has done to some list prices recently:

R1 50th Anniversary: UK list price 12999 Pounds, Italian list price 17690 Euro ( UK price 16060 Euro) ok
XT660X UK 6599 Pounds Italy 6890 Euro (UK price 8153 Euro!!!!). Wierd.
Super Ten Worldcrosser UK 12999 Pounds Italy price 15690 Euro (UK price 16062 Euro) ok.
FJR1300A UK 15499 Pounds Italy 17190 Euro (UK price 19151 Euro). Mmmm.
MT-03 UK 7399 Pounds Italy 6590 Euro (UK price 9142 Euro) er what??????

Wierd eh??? I know that for instance the MT-03 has never sold well in the UK but at the Euro price you could come over and buy a few!!!

Simon

The vagueries of exchange rates.....
But don't forget spending power: what does your average Italian earn versus your average Brit? What is real disposable income? What will happen when (not 'if') the Euro collapses?????
On the other hand, how much hassle would it be to import an XT? Would you really save more than a few hundred allowing for licensing/on the road costs/etc? What about waranty claims? I think Yamaha UK would drag their feet on this....

Hiya Mash well fair comments, the Euro wont collapse cos we cant afford it hehehehe.
Importing an MT03 is worth it tho, look at the 2500 euro difference!!!!!! And dont forget these are list prices, many dealers are slashing prices to move the metal.....
