Adjustable Raising/Lowering Links

Don't know whether anyone's seen these before, but I've just spotted some adjustable links for 34 which will suit the XTZ reviewed in RIDE this month. There are two types; one raises in increments from +5 to +40 and the other lowers...

Hi! My advice would be to NOT fit the lowering kits unless you really need it. When I bought my first XT660X in 2008 I had the dealer fit the Yamaha lowering kit as I had recently had a foot op so I was not confident with the bike at its original height (I am about 178cm tall). The lowering is well done (even the prop stand is shortened) and I could sit with both feet flat on the floor BUT it was too easy to get the foot pegs scraping on the road when cornering with enthusiasm 2 up!!
I now have a 2011 XTX at the standard height and I cannot scrape this one and the handling is far far better even with some weight on board. I am having so much fun that I have covered 6000 km in the last 4 months and I am now just starting on the mods, wot fun!!! Ciao Simon

Tripletom has (the original) set of these fitted to his Tenere, and can I'm sure vouch for the quality.

I've also known various other people with these links fitted to other bikes (I know the lady behind Projection Components through another forum) and haven't heard any complaints. If I didn't already have a set of links from Off The Road I'd have no hesitation about buying these.

Hi, I have same lowering links, now adjusted to -40mm. I also lowered front, by changing positions of front forks in triples. I made just couple of meters due to weather, but feeling and maneverability is much easier. I looking forward to nice weather and first spring ride /we still have a lot of snow/. Good luck everybody.

Indeed I have, and indeed I can.
Very nicely made pieces of kit. Because I like looking truck drivers in the eye I have mine set at +40mm currently

I think I'm going bite the bullet and order some. Tom; can you recall what the other available heights are (or failing that hole centre measurements), it only states +5 to +40 on the web site, I'm looking for somewhere in the region of +10 to +20 if I've got my geometry calculations right!

Oh, and how's your bottom roller getting on at +40? Ta.

I've not heard of anyone fitting lowering links who didn't need them?
