Homemade mobile and sat nav mount

As i was planning to use CoPilot on my mobile as my sat nav i was looking for a cheap way to mount it securely on the sat nav bracket on the Ten. As it is too small in diameter for standard mounts and also too close to the instruments a mod was in order. One could buy a mount from Touratech but it is pricey and i had almost all the bits i needed lying around in the garage. Here is the result, tried and tested by now.
I did buy the phone mount from ebay for 8.00.

I have tried and tested the setup over last couple of days and it works just fine. I plug my helmet speakers straight into the phone to hear the directions and can also listen to music now. Great!

I was a bit worried about vibrations but the sat nav is clear. It vibrates a bit but a weight glued to the back of the holder should take care of it. We'll see.

Overall an easy, cheap(if you got a lot of bits in the garage like me!) and quick mod. Took me less than 2 hours!!

Taken your points.
Don't really need sat nav off road. And with regards to waterproofing, I thought it fairly well protected behind the screen and it is amazing what you can do with a clear plastic bag.
I am also playing with the idea of securing the phone holder permanently to the bracket with a srew through the centre. It is easy enough to get the phone out of the cradle.

testing testing

Hi,
after some thinking i have put a large O-ring (from my toolbox) between the holder and the bracket and then had a short session across Bodmin moor yesterday with my lovely phone on the holder. And guess what? Didn't budge! Got well shaken though.
Also took the opportunity today to test how waterproof a simple plastic bag is. 100% i have to say. After 40 miles through rain and sunshine today it stayed dry inside, apart from some condensation which blurred the picture a bit.
