Hybrid fender.

HI all

I just bought a high front fender from ktm(acctually for a drz), which im planning on fitting anyway but i was thinking of doing somthing like on the R were you have the front part of the high fender and the rear part of the low fender.

My plan (if i can be bothered) is to cut the front off the original fender* but keeping the fixings, then cut the rear off the high fender and attatch it in the obvious place.

*but if i can find an alternative ie the one off the R or another bike that will fit, ill use that.

well thats the plan, any ideas or thoughts would be welcome.

Cheers.

Why?

The point of putting a high mudguard on and taking the low one off is so the wheel doesn't stop going round when you ride on a nice claggy Nottinghamshire byway:

If you've still got half of it there, you're still going to have a problem with mud.

Of course if you just think it looks good, then fill your boots

I remember a post and photo about lifting the OE front fender - you could do that and cut the front off + fit your high one.

Just found it.

did you do it,

I did this ages ago now.

I didnt want to touch the original fender as they cost over 70 new

so I got a fender of e bay polisport i think it is 15 or 60 from touratech !!!!!

then i got the lower fender of the r for about 17 and fitted it as an extra I used the original fixing holes but also added 2 new holes for the lower fender to line up

I am happy with it and I cann easily remove the lower fender when it gets muddy but for road use it gives the engine more spray protection
