How much did ya bits cost Mr.

Havin just lashed out on a shock and fork springs thought I'd tot up what I've spent on the bike and shiney trinkets, in the two and a half years I've had it, not counting tyres and servicing which run at about 300.

ScotOiler........... 60 My first one, now sold on the idea.
Acerbis HandGuards.. 90 Must haves, for when you tumble into an unkempt northern bush.
DNA Filters......... 60 Bike revs up a lot quicker.
PCV................ 250 Box with wires, make bike go.
AdvSpec Bash Plate. 200 Descrete water pump protection for the Discerning Offroad Gentelman.
AmmoBox TopBox...... 20 Handy when camping for those bits and bobs.
Nitron Shock....... 580 Bouncy bling, it better be good.
Ohlins Fork Springs 120 Bouncy bling, they better be good.
SatNav............. 250 OK if you plan a route or get lost.

Extras............ 1630
Bike.............. 4600
Total............. 6230

Only other mod I'm mullin owa is taking the hump out the seat which would add another 100ish. Other than that there's nowt else I'd get...... for now?

hi just done a suspension upgrade ...i havnt fitted the ohlins yet as they are not here
id be interested to rear your views ...

i was surprised by the nitron shock heres my e mail to them and reply ..strange indeed

hi
im wondering if you have any suggestions for a xt 660z tenere ...
i use the bike fitted witth tks and rarely go over 80mph on the road
i use it for trail riding on some pretty rough terrain ..the present
setup is too soft on and off road and has no adjustable rebound
damping
im looking for somthing that will be more compliant when the suspension is
worked hard on bumpy ground ..and to stop it kicking back on the road
its nor clear from your pr weather you cater for this sort of
riding ..a honest answer is apprieciated
i am aroiun 115 kilos suited and booted the bike from time to time will
carry around 25kilos at the rear off road but no pillions
thanks steve

Dear Steve,

Thank you for your email.

Unfortunately we do not have a specification for your machine. I have raised
this spec with design department. If a specification can be developed we
will contact and update you of the situation.

Sorry that we are unable to assist at this time, all the best.

I think I must have been lucky and bought a Tenere with good shocks

The standered set up once you set it up seems rather good .

That said I'm a tight Yorkshire man and don't like spending money on Bling

Now you got me worried......

Bike
Hyperpro's (front & back)
GPS (plus mount)
Oxford 'sports' heated grips
Renthal Enduro High Bar
Barkbusters
Vison-X lights (on GULG-o-tech brackets)
Tuarge Bar bag
Power socket setup
LED indicators
DNA Filter
PC-V
PivotPegz
Side Stand Extension (GULG-o-tech)
HEL Brake lines
TT rear Rack, from a 1200GS (on prototype adapter mount so it fits the Yam mountings)
TT rear Bag (from a 1150GS
TT luggage rack
Zega Pro's
Scottoiler (24K miles and still on the original chainset ! )
OTR Bash Plate
Radiator splash guard (GULG-o-tech)
Tool Tube (on GULG-o-tech mounts)
MTC Single Can
BikeVis Bullets (discreetly mounted)

I started to look at the prices, then decided it is a very bad idea indeed !

Minky, Nitron list the xt660z on their website, think it was Tom(?) off this site who had first one not so long ago, depends when you emailed them?

Dazzer, fiddled with the settings ,not that there's much to play with, and the stock stuff is OK I just thought WTF and heart ruled head for once. Will see if it's worth it, though if the roads keep on crumbling at the rate they're going it should be money well spent.

Gas, kerrr chinggg, maybe remane the thread "Don't let the missus see". I really don't like to analyse this kind of thing but by todays prices 6k is still good value. To put this into perspective my mate bought a few new sports bikes changing a 9r, for zx10 and then summit else rekons he lost 14k in three years, ouch.

Hagon Progessive Fork Springs

Hi there, i have the Hagon front springs and 15w oil in my Ten . I didnt fit them myself but i had no spacers in and they seem to be ok, although i dont go off road . Also how long did your rear shock last before it went off, and would Hagon have rebuilt it but with a new spring ?
