I present you my X

Ok i been a member of this forum since 08 - even before I bought my X, and since then I had many topics in wich i was bothering ppl with many questions. Except short introduction i newer wrote anything about me and my bike... well this is going to change since this rainy day.

I bought my new X on March 2009, and I'm enjoying it since then...

Since then i did various mods, most of them were advised by headmaster Kev, som of them by other forum members and friends... so lets start...

First of all I didn't like those stock red stickers and they had to go since day 1.
unfortunately I found out that they are there for reason... so now I have pretty much scratched side panels... i tried to fix that by sticking on black mat car vinyl... but results wasn't grate:

I will try this again soon but this time I will pay someone who know to do it..

I ordered a pair of Acerbis Supermoto Hand guards for wich i think that fits bike line perfectly.

Next thing to be fit was DNA filters stage 1 and stage 2. In same time on other side of world Kev received order from me for his Mod. Luckely everything arrived in no time...
Kev mod was mounted and fited under the seat witout problems, snorkel removed and metal net fitted over hole

But that plastic stage 2 filter wasn't the prettiest thing.
so 1.5mm tin was in sliced and coated in black. i had on mind option with metal net... but at the end I dropped it

and this is how it looks like on bike - click to zoom

Denso Iridium spark plug

Next thing, i newer liked those big rounded indicators… so they had to go.. instead of them small LED arrow head indicators was mounted

of course, LED parking light was next logical thing to change
its little bit ugly but hay it glows white perfect to match H4 bixenon 6000 K wich is next to it ...

DID CHAIN-KIT RACING X-R with black sprocket

On 10.000 i needed to change my tires so Micheline Pilot Power 2CT was fitted

and then I came to the funniest mod:
Leovince x3 exhausts

My latest mod which I fitted few days ago is LED tail light and tail tidy:

Well done, that is what the fun is all about owning these bikes, the most important thing is to make it your way!

Congrats.

searching all around this forum, looking at the various pictures and ignoring an option to order it from off the road website because of its ridiculously high price i chose make it yourself solution. I must say http://www.xt-660.de/mainframe.htm gallery was really helpful in finding a perfect one

I found that chines bikes CPI and Derbi have really nice looking LED teil light on their supermoto and motocross bikes so I decide that it fits my desires.
I contacted several chines distributers in my city but they couldn't hook me up with one in any reasonable time.. Google did his job perfectly and I ordered one from
http://www.andysmotorcycles.com/inde...roducts_id=132
paying 24.95 + shipping… not that bad

wit this tal light, all the xtx photos i could find loaded to my laptop, bunch of enthusiasm I went to my friend Nikola (KTM 640 LC4) garage to get a job done!

Making Of Tail Light:

ok so inspired by all the images, and after carefully readied every single info i could find on this topic we started with cutting the tail. There is an old saying in my language - " 3 puta meri jednom seci " which would mean mean something like 3 time measure one time cut… well we measured only 2 times so unfrtinetly we cuted it 5mm shorter

Dissembled

Measuring

Cutting (at this point we tought we could save top part of plastic to be some kind of roof over LED tail light.. but it turned out we had to take it all...

Modeling

Tadaaaa:

after this it was again dissembled and sent on powder-coatingin in black. Final results was weary nice as you can see...

Wiring and fitting indicators - because original tail plastic is little bit curved we had to fit indicators with pre sharped plastic spacers that Nikola made

and the final product would be like this:

Licence plate is fitted later a little bit "illegal" and soon ill have to find better position for it.. this way i can be spotted by cameras and ticketed for illegal plate placement... so i dont have any real benefit form placing it like this.

also i justa made new bigger spacers to replace stock ones for exhausts since i wanted to "put exhaust" little bit wider since tail is now naked
and hopfuly next week I will receve front Hyperpro spring and oil that I recently ordered from off the road,

and i will mount them along with used XTR dogbones that i managed to find locally (like KEW advised me)

- to be honest from first look this dog bonse looks exactly same as mine on X ??? hopefully it will prove me wrong once i mount them otherways i wasted 20 € for nothing...

all this X mods are supported by

Custom windshield made by local craftsman for 45€...
my original idea was to use it for long trips but my current job did everything to stop me from going it anywhere far > I newer even mounted it on bike its just sitting in closed colecting dust for a year:

it shoul look something like this when its mounted

also Givi E470 with backrest is sitting there under it

ok so that would be about it... sorry for any spelling/lang mistakes its not my native language... thanks for reading this long long post

A man after my own heart, mod it until with things you can buy off the self, they start making your own mods
