hi there. i want to build my own fueling mod so after a quick look at Kev's setup i popprd into Maplin to buy the gear. What a waste of time! they looked at me as if i had two heads when i asked for a variable 0 to 1kohm resistor.

"what's that"? they said!!?? oh you have to look through the book and ask for the parts by part number. waste of space.

does anyone know all the maplin part numbers that i'll need for the pot and enclosure? pot JM69A looks right - is it?
or maybe RS would be a better bet?

I built mine with parts from Maplins. the assistant looked it up in the book for me. Don't know the part number, it came without any packaging, but it looks like the one in your post - JM69A. 0-1K linear

Prety easy to make, solder the wires to the left and centre tabs on the resistor.
Turned fully clockwise it reduces the temp by 9 degrees, I set mine at 5 and have left it there.

Well worth the effort to make and fit, bike is much more rideable at slow speed / steady throttle.

Yep. It looks like jk69a is the 'pot' with the box being Lh56L. Knob RD99H looks good. But I'm going to go to another store this time.

Just phoned the uxbridge branch. Very helpful and can speak as well as understand English!

Maplin used to be very good, and still are at times , but for some reason they have started to employ morons.....

That box listed is a non starter as it doesn't come with a lid ! Guys in uxbridge very good ,but they did not have a box the right size. Blagged a free catalog through. Will look through throigh that tonight.
