Airoh S4 Opinions
I am going to get a new helmet as a christmas present so have stared to look at what is out there. I have a cheap head so I dont mind a cheapish lid. I have seen a few people use the Airoh S4. I like the look of this helmet especially with a smoke tinted visor option.
My only real worry is the peak, is it literally a pain in the neck and is it noisy? I have read all the forum opinions to date but just thought I would ask the question. I know you can remove the peak but that spoils the look and if that was the case I may as well of just had a "normal" road bike helmet. Your opinions are valued so let me have them! Please remember I have a large ugly but effective touring screen on my XTX already so I dont currently suffer from any troubles with a standard road bike helmet

The S4 is not noisy, the peak doesn't pull your head back as its more like a wind spoiler. It's open on the back so the wind flows right under it.
Best lid I've ever had back in the days when I was a biker! wow that's 2 years ago... 2008 seems like yonks. |

I have one and am quite pleased with what I use it for. Mainly for shorter trips and green laning.
I would not recommend it for longer motorway journeys as I find it too loud for that. But then again I am a bit spoilt on that front with my Shoei XR1000 with whisper kit. No problems with neck pain though, not even on long trips. |

hi, i bought one for my latest trip, 5,000miles in 3 weeks very pleased with it, comfy, looks the part, value for money. i usually run with earplugs or mp3 plugs. when not using them it seemed no worse than my usual road lid.
the buffeting was minimal, occasionally i have used my offroad vemar, very pronounced buffeting thought it has a much larger peak. for use with goggles, there is much less room than a mx lid so if going this route smaller more compact goggles are better. the 'vents' cannot be closed at the front, duct tape sorts that! in all a great lid |

Thank you to all, I am going to try one on at the weekend and if it feels good I shall place my order with S.W.M.B.O.

I bought an official Yamaha tenere helmet at 159. Did a long ride with it on Saturday and really liked it. Great visability, not too loud.
They are made by Italian company BYE. |
