Hi all, test ride tomorow on the XTR!!! plan to fit a bash guard as the pipes look extremely exposed where they are positioned. however part time lifeguard funds dont leave much to spare so i plan to ask my friend who is a talented fabricator if he would be able to make me one up!

any recomendations from previouse Bash guards people have owned on how they would change or improve the normal ones?

yes,, I havent made one,, but the one i do have is tourtech large one.. that guards some o the water pump......... guard the water pump at all cost... an make it as strong as ye can... nothin flimsy...

If he looks at the Touratech one that is the way i think they should all be designed like. Ok it is massive but covers a load of expensive areas like the exhausts, water pump, covers some of the gear and brake lever, the oil drain bolt on the frame and a few other areas.

Also make sure you place a few rubber washers on the plate when you mount it, stops the plate from vibrating and causing a rattling noise.

ok thanks!! had the test ride today and love it!! so deposit is down and part exchange agreed i should be on it this weekend! but yea ill get him to have a look at that bash guard Mentioned and see what he can produce! thanks for the advice on the rubber mounts aswell!
