ACF50 Application

Hi guys, just a quick question:

I got me a can of ACF50, and just want to check that it is fine so spray onto everything on the bike apart from tyres, brakes, grips, footpeg rubbers?

So I will be ok to spray the forks, including the seals? And the rear shock?

Coolant hoses etc won't be damaged by it?

Thanks

Harry

You got it.

Give your brake disks a wipe over with some cellulose thinners (if you have some ) afterwards to get rid of any drips that run down onto them.

Oh, and do it outside, somewhere you can clean up easily (or don't mind a few oil stains.)

Thanks for the confirmation!
Just one more (for the moment lol):

Am I right in thinking I should clean my bike, dry it, give it a good ACF50 application, and then not clean it until spring? I was reading on a website somewhere (possibly ACF50's itself, I can't remember) that people thought this may be a good idea as then dirt etc will not reach the bike as it will sit on the layer of ACF50, and when thouroughly cleaned in the spring everything will come off and I can then re-apply ACF50?

Who would have thought cleaning a bike could be so technical!? :-p

Many thanks

Harry

No, wash your bike plenty of times over winter.

I think the best one i was told was, give your bike a good clean, dry then cover in acf50 (not the brakes etc) then unless your doing a proper monthly clean dont rub the bike down just spray it with a hose (not power hose) as this will get the salt etc off but not take off the afc50, then after the month give it a good clean and repeat.

I would do this but every 2 weeks or so depending on the weather and the rain

Ahh yes that sounds like a good plan. I try not to ride in the rain (and cold lol), so I will give her a good 'mini service' today (clean, ACF50, chain clean and lube, air filter clean and oil), and then after I next ride when it's wet I will give her a quick rinse.

After riding in the wet I always give the enigine a quick clean anyway to try and remove salt etc to keep it nice and shiny with no flaking or corrosion (fingers crossed it will stay this way!)

Thanks
