I used to have the touratech and in my opinion they are the best on the market for offroad ,also saved the engine when i got hit by a 4x4 so can say first hand how good they are, just a shame that they are so expensive now and might take some time to order unless they have them in stock

horribly expensive as I am looking the the taller one which looks like coming up to near the bottom of the rad on the XTR: 170

I am thinking more about shielding the engine from grit & stones on normal road.
thanks for your feedback

I like it. Do you have some charts?
Problems with over-heating the engine?

If you mean plans/drawings then I'm affraid not, just made a template for the angles that I wanted then quickly made it on my lunch break.

No overheating problems that I know of yet, but with it being made from ali it can easily be drilled etc.

Its water cooled, the holes in the sump guards are not for cooling it so when you wash them the crap can come out easy

I am always scarred when I see covered pipes. Maybe it is only in my mind.

Did anyone try to fit OTR Sump guard XT-660 R/X on Tenere?
I like this one
OTR Engine Guard Tray XT-660

- OTR Skid plate for the Yamaha XT-660 R/X - protection for the site cap/waterpump - Fits for the Enduro and Super-Moto model - much more stronger than the light and thin Yamaha skid plate - robust protection by 3 mm aluminium - Fits with SW-Motech crashbars - Protection for the headpipes - Delivery with all required components
