Baffle(DBkiller) picture
Hi guys!! Can anyone help me with a picture of a removed baffle?
I'm in the process of installing some Leo Vince SBK Replica Evo II on the Tenere and I believe that the baffle is different (the cans are from a Hornet 2007). Thanks a lot!! |
I just fitted my leo's , love the look and the sound of it , but , there is a but offcourse :)
question for those running them , First I fitted the mufflers directly onto the pipes , and tested the sound , wow! loud even very loud compared to stock , but I thought , ahh, naah it's ok , untill I took it around the block , the backfiring is riduculous loud ! , every bang makes the same sound as you would here something explode , being ,loudddddddd, then I tried it with the silencers removed , offcourse , very very loud, such a nice sound , but waaaay to loud then I took a better look inside the box and found some stupid small plates (same diameter as the pipes) with some holes in , friend of mine said , well probably you have to fit those in between the muffler and the linking pipe , and that's what we did , result => much softer sound , but still ok , the banging is still there but is now just sounding cool ... ok now my question , did all of you fit this plate ? as I don't see anything written on the very short manual ... and another thing , I'm running stock engine with stock air intake , just took the ten for a short trip in the neighborhood and the result , I'm missing power !!! , seriously , the bikes is dead above 4000-5000 , I can fully pull the gas , and the bike does not react like it did with the stock muffler ... , do I really need the change the air intake ? with the stage one ? or am I missing something here .... thanks you all ! |
What plates? ;)

problem solved ,
cut off the snorkel with a knife which gives you exactly the same thing as they sell at dna nice sound , and runs great now , even with the plates fitted http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ViXtAIoQR4I |
Sounds good Kemizz.
The popping (or banging if you've a loud zorst) sound is the AIS (Air Intake Sensor) that opens a solenoid connecting the airbox to the exhaust port to burn off unburnt fuel on a closed throttle and that's where the popping comes from. I've removed the pipe and capped the connectors at both ends. Search the forum for AIS mod.. You may also want to try Kev's fuel mod and a free flowing air filter to compliment the pipes and snorkel mod.. Once you start, there's no stopping.. |
The small round plates with 5 holes in it will restrict the flow even worse the the standard exhaust. I have done a back to back test when I had mine, the Discs will quieten the leo's but you definitely lose power.

Hi All,
Does anyone here have the exhaust emission test result for the Leo Vince pipe? I badly need it for the inspection for my exhaust. A pdf scan will do. I bought mine online, and it doesn't have this test result. Do the rest of you have it when you got it from the dealer?? I'm worried now that this pipe won't receive it's legal status here just because of one document.. :( ZewL |
Maybe its on the leovince site.
They also have sound check documents on there |

I did check their website, and it wasn't there. I've emailed Leo Vince regarding this and hoping that they would reply by this coming week..It would be such a loss for me to sell it off after just getting it..:cry[1]: Rgds, ZewL |
