Yes, there are loads cheap LED lights on ebay and many folk seem happy with them, the CREE ones seem to be in the middle somewhere and Vision-X at the top end. I have the Vision-X stuff (cheap if bought in the US ;) ). The only thing I'd say is, be very careful what beam pattern you get - they do 4 kinds; the fog, flood and 15/45 don't really focus the light enough so you end up with a lot of wasted light in the form of scatter/glare. The 10 degree spots (the ones with convex lens in the centre, not a diffuser) put a substantial amount more light on the road and IMHO very effective in terms of light on the road per Watt. |
Studs are finally coming on! Perfect conditions for enduro studs here now, had -20, sudden heatwave with melting, colder again and soft powder on top of that. Can drive on roads, the lakes and rivers anywhere I want and even take a trip down town. =)

Seems to have died a bit this thread! Here's the first one of 2014.
