You will be fine with the CO where it is now the fuel mod will do the rest.

See what you can do. Thanks a lot for the tip

Is this where it all started then?

A very interesting read.

Good morning! Heeeelp meeee!!!!

I have noticed lately since my visit to a workshop ( and before the motorcycle sat for a long time in the parking lot, that's why it was the service...) A scary reddening of the exhausts.

Of course I can anticipate you... yes this guy started to mind TPS & Co and I do not know if he reinstated them to the original settings.

If I ride a few kilometers they begin to reddish.

Has it happened to someone else ...?

Guys, do you need to change CO settings after fitting new aftermarket open exhaust?

My sparkplug gets like this very fast. I understand the fuel mixture is very rich.
My bike is xtx 2007 full stock and factory co setting was 15. I decreased the setting to 5.

Is there anything else or a mod I can fit to fix this problem?

Kev 11-08-17 11:34

The only way to correctly diagnose AFR is with a Wideband sensor & data log and view the AFR across the whole map range.

It is very hard to read plug colours from fuel injected motors, unless you have a problem with very lean AFR up to 2% throttles I would reduce the CO1 to +5.

hannesd 23-01-18 21:28

what exactly can be done/achieved with the diagnostic tool for my 2009 XTZ?
idle can be richend up, but can overall mixture be set higher?
is it worth getting it?
i just pulled my snorkel and will me taking the cat out soon.
different airfilter will come soo too.
engine's just a slight bit jerky in 2nd,3rd gear at 3500-4000rpm at steady throttle, i assume lean mixture.
AIS not blocked off yet.
bike rus pretty well otherwise...
got a pot meter 47K ohm attached now but can't seem to make much of difference, i read i should use a 1K ohm pot meter?
don't know if my model has an O2 sensor fitted?
tried changing TPS,turned a bit clockwise but ran rougher, so turned back.

thanks for any input :-)

Surging / stalling problem

Hi all, I just bought an Xt660x 2005 model to use as a commuter bike, it came with Mivv titanium oval exhausts.

It has the problem of surging especially when running at low speeds through trafific or approaching roundabouts etc. It also backfires as soon as I loose throttle.

What do you suggest is the cheapest way to get a smooth ride? Current CO setting is at -5 and the idle revs is in the region of 1680 rpm

Thanks
Sam

PS. I live in Malta, for anyone who doesn't know it's a small island in the Med with normally high temperatures
