well took my bike in to change rear tyre and the man said i had a bit more left in it yet and don`t need changing.
So i have got 5387 miles out of my michelin pilot road 2 so far and i think it will be good for 6000miles at least.
I was going to try an Avon storm st on the rear this time but maybe i should stay with the michelin? and i must admit i have no grip problems at all in the dry or wet with this tyre.

well changed my rear tyre today and went for the same as before a michelin pilot road 2 and i got 5997 miles out of it in the end and recon i could have got another 500miles if i wanted to but thought i would get it changed now ready for the autumn/winter weather as i use the bike to go to and from work.
All in all a very good tyre indeed had very good grip in wet or dry and lasts as well.
