New Tyre

my pirelli tyre is now starting to show signs of squaring off and i need to get a new tyre soon which i am not happy about considering i have done less than 2,000 miles on it.
I don`t want to go down the road of a distanzia as i don`t like the look of it and realy want a pure hard wearing road tyre.
I was thinking of a pilot road 2 or a avon storm st,Has anyone used these two tyres and how did you get on with them please.
Thanks,Andy

I don't know about the Avon Tyres you have mentioned but Miguel (nein) can tell you which tyres are really good as an alternative to Distanzia as he is also one of those who prefer semi-slicks or "normal tyres" on his bike.

Other makes with good feedback and reputation are Continental Supermoto and Dunlop Qualifiers or the new dual compound ones.

Thanks capt,Can`t get over how quick the tyre i got with the bike has squared off after only 1750 miles and i hope i can get myself a tyre what lasts at least double that as i can`t afford to spend a 100+ every 2000 miles or it will be bye bye bike.

The XTX eats tyres like no tomorrow. I'm on my 4th rear tyre in 8 months.

You could go down the road of using a non supermoto tyre but then you'll be sacrificing grip. Personally, I use Distanzias and love the tread pattern and the grip is fantastic. They are the longest lasting supermoto tyre I've found by far.

As for Pirelli Dragon tyres. You could wear out one of those tyres in a week. They are too soft and when I had Pirellis on my bike I had a few slips on the hot days in the summer. They melt so easily.

I only use, front Pirelli Super Corsa 1200kms & rear Pirelli Diablo Strada 10000kms. They stick like hell & are very good in the rain.

thanks for the reply`s and i must say i am a bit worried about the rear tyre wearing out this quick and i realy can not afford to buy two or three rear tyres a year as i only use the bike for getting to work and the occasional afternoon out in the summer,
Kev,what does 10000kms mean in miles is that about 5000 if so that seems ok with me.
Andy
ps:the pilot road 2 are dual compound i think?
