Hi Ralph http://www.postsmile.com/img/emotions/88.gif

I think the aprilia is the best sportsbike on the planet(i have owned a few) if i come into money i will be buying one again even if it's just to look at http://www.postsmile.com/img/emotions/181.gif

As for the supermoto conversion ,it was brilliant and a lot easier to change wheels than change tyres all the time ,the only mods i done were Kev mod,k&n air filter, fork spacers and arrow cans ,but these were done before i did the wheels

like what youve done.I bet a 08 swingarm would look good could be your next project ?

I'm just one of these weird folk who like to have something different. I love the v-twin hence the SV650, and you'll never catch me getting passionate about a run of the mill japanese in-line four cylinder bike.

I haven't ridden the RSVR (yet), but I love the way it looks, and the fact it's not an GSX-R1-a-Blade.

The Factory is about the most sorted sports bike (suspension, brakes, etc) that you can buy out of the crate.

I quite fancy a Ducati 1098, MV Augusta F4 or a Benelli Tornado, but the RSVR is more practical.

Have you been over any rough stuff with the XT since you increased the front preload with the front spacers? If true switchability between green-laner and supermoto can be achieved I might just switch the SV for an XT ASAP for winter and wait until May to get the sports bike.

I am moving from Scotland to Birmingham at the beginning of December and I'll need to commute through Birmingham traffic every day.

If you read some ride reports we done on our website (vdsr) you will see some of the places i have taken the xt ,all doen with just switching wueels over ,the bike's suspension is exactly the same for both sets of wheels

Cheers Jase, did a search on XT660 and had a look at this thread http://www.vdsr.co.uk/forums/index.php?topic=298.0

Looks like the XT is capable of a lot more than me at the moment! I certainly wouldn't attempt anything more challenging than those pic's at the moment. I haven't done much off road riding since I was a kid. I'm definately going to get one and evetually do the same supermoto conversion as yours so I have two bikes in one.

The stuff I did in Mexico was not nearly as challenging, dry and flat for most of it but it could get pretty rocky and deep loose surfaces in places. It bought me off once 'cos I was looking at the scenery not the trail. The guy on the Cagiva Canyon really struggled on occasions needing several attempts to get up the loose rocky steeper slopes, whereas the lightweight (but 30bhp gutless!) Falcon just needed a run up, a pinned throttle and a lot of dust!

See my Bebo page for the pic's

thanks to jasext

I thought that i would just say thanks to jasext for his informative thread on fitting the xtx wheels on to the r.I have now done this and she looks great but tbh its cost me about 490 for the wheels, tyres and tubes so i probably could have brought the xtx with the extra cash, and ive still got pipes, filters etc to buy yet :cry[1]:.

But now you have the best of both worlds allowing you to change the wheels easy for SM riding (X wheels) then to general or off roading (R wheels).

Either that or you could sell your R wheels on ebay and with the money buy the other bits but i think it best to keep the R wheels as they are the oringinal wheels
