What HP do you get from that mod.

HP gains. I have taken the best gains in HP power for each mod off the Dyno sheet, not the max peak power reading but the best result for that mod. I have before & after runs of all of these mods that I tested on the Dyno.

By just adding up the totals of each mod will not come to the same total in HP when tested on the Dyno, when combining mods you may get even more or less HP then the totals added up from below. I have posted many Dyno sheets on the forum for different bikes with the same mods, so I have chosen one bike & took the results for that bike, so there may be results out there that differ marginally. Use this as a guide line & not an exact science.

+ Standard filter, snorkel removed, Kev air box mod. = 0.5HP

+Stage 1 filter & snorkel removed = 1.2 HP

+Kev fuel mod, no other mods. = 1.6HP

+Kev fuel mod, Kev air box mod, snorkel removed, standard filters. = 2.4HP (As sold on Ebay)

+Carbon Cans only. = 2.2HP

+DNA stage 2 filter only, standard main filter = 3.1HP. (Best gain in HP & torque for your money.)

+Stage1 & 2 DNA Filters snorkel removed. = 3.8HP

+Kev fuel mod, Kev airbox mod stage 1 & 2 filters, snorkel removed. = 4.2HP (As sold on Ebay) http://www.xt660.com/showpost.php?p=11400&postcount=79

+Kev fuel mod, Kev airbox mod, no filters. = 4.8HP (Which shows there is still a 1/2 HP to get from the air box)

+PCIII. = 2.0HP but your fueling is correct over the whole fuel range & power is improved across the whole rev range. Test was with ccc, stage 1 & 2 filters snorkel removed airbox drilled. The gain would be less if the PCIII was on a standard bike with no mods.

DNA stage 3 Air Box Mod + PCIII custom fuel map + Cans = 8.33 HP gain. 53.33hp at the rear wheel http://www.xt660.com/showpost.php?p=110870&postcount=40

+Kev fuel mod, Airbox & filter mod, CCC, baffles removed, TPS set to 25. = 6.6HP . 51.6hp at the rear wheel http://www.xt660.com/showpost.php?p=10232&postcount=77

*Stage 1 Hot Cam = A gain of 4.63 HP at 6500rpm & 7.14 HP at the rev limiter 7200rpm. (With this cam you loose Torque & HP below 5500RPM but with great top end HP & Torque.)

*Kev. Big Bore 700 11:1 piston by it's self no other mods = A gain of 3.2 HP & 4.18 Ft-lbs more Torque on top of the mods you have already on your bike. (With the big bore you have a gain across the whole rev range, with no loss any where in the rev range.) http://www.xt660.com/showpost.php?p=54997&postcount=86

i am thinking about shortening my standard cans by apprx 3to 4 ins cutting down to allow end caps to be put back in place and allowing the use of the factory mountings as still to look standard but apprx 3to4 ins shorter . can you please tell me if this is possible as to not affect fuelling or smooth running of the engine etc/etc this is mainly for sound reasons more than anything else . also i have been told that the fuelling can be adjusted from the clock pod , please can you tell me how to do this if you know. kind regards darren stephens .:yahoo:

What are you going to do about the solid cat in the pipe, if you try to cut it, it will break up. You will need to gut the whole pipe & pack it with a baffle.

Any change to the exhaust will effect the running, you adjust the CO1 up or fit a fuelling device.

Lots of info here for you.

Kev,

Please excuse my ignorance - what does this mean? There is only ONE Air Filter on the XT660, isn't there?

The bike comes standard with one main filter in the air box.

We fit a second filter which is called a stage 2 filter, this filter replaces the air box side cover, the air box cover is permanently removed & the stage 2 filter takes it's place. With the extra air that the stage 2 filter offers we can get a 3.1HP gain in power.

Stage 2 filter

Stage 1 filter.

The nice stainless steel cover can be bought from Worry Brother by PM or from the forums shop on the main page. http://www.xt660.com/site/node/194 .

The stage 2 DNA filter can be fitted with or without the stainless steel cover, the stainless cover is just bling.

Thank you, Kev. That seems like a great "return on investment", I have duly ordered up both of them.

Fitted mods.

Had me xtx for a month now. Started wit the Snorkal removal and the dash CO1 adjustment. Seemed to reduce the serging a little and stopped the cutting out in the middle of busy roads and of roadabouts!
Replaced the standard stage 2 filter with a K&N which just seemd to make it sound more throaty?
Purchased one of Kevs fuel mods and fitted. (So easy with the intrustions!!Nice one Kev) The bike now only has a minor surge in the mid range which is livable at the mo and I'll probabley adjust a bit of riding to sort that. Power seems to have increased right through the rev range which is probably me grabbing bigger hand fulls and luvin every second!!:)

Overall seems to be money well spent on Mods for the xtx. Thanx for your superb mod kev and the other bits that can with it! Great little package for the cash and saved a small fortune rather than getting a power commander!!
