I guess I'm being silly...

Hi, I noticed that the DNA stage 1+2 produces more HP with Kev mod than with Powercommanderaccording to the listed result. That feels somehow weird, since one should be able to map the fueling just right with a Powercommander. The listed results seem to show that this was tested with the same bike on the same dyno. What gives, or is it just that the Kev mod was hitting the peak power, while PC was going for best fuel economy or driveability, not maximum power?

Quite correct, the Power Commander was tested as it came out of the box with the base map which comes pre-installed in the Power Commader from Dyno Jet, not a Custom make fuel made to produce the best all round performance which the owner would have to pay extra for after buying a Power Commander.

During the tests mentioned the Kev fuel mod was adjusted to produce the best HP, both mods were test as the customer would receive them out of the box.

Is there a similar guide to this only with torque gains?
I'm thinking we mostly use our bikes below 100 km/h and torque would be more beneficial. What's best to focus on if you want more torque?

If you look at the thread links mod come with the dyno charts which also have torque charts withing them

Big bore standard XT660 cam produces good torque, all the dyno runs are on the threads.

i have leovince cans with baffles, pipercross filter, snorkel removed and co level increased from 6 to 16.power gain??? the bike is faster surely.
if i will put the kev's fuel mod, it will change the fuel consumption?

Kev 25-04-12 14:42

Adjusting the Co1 to 16 will only effect the A/F ratio at part throttle & does not increase the fuelling after 2% throttle. There will be on power increase from CO1 adjustments, it will help with surging up to 2% throttle opening.

The Kev fuel mod can adjust the fuelling across the whole RPM & throttle range, the fuel mod can increase the consumption by around 5%.

For best performance fit a DNA stage 2 air filter + my fuel mod & you will have a smile everytime you crank open the throttle.

Well I've fallen into the trap!!!!,I have Kevs mod and it runs very nicely thank you, after much thought on a KTM 690SMC and decided against it, couldn't resist buying a PC it'll be interesting to see the difference.

A Power Commander + custom Dyno map is the way to go if you have the funds.

Well it'll have to stay in the box for a while with 3 days at the Stafford classic bike show this coming fri/sat/sun and then off to Estoril for the Portugese GP for week,I'll put my two peneeth in when I come back.
