Rev counter (tachometer) for the XT660R

Hi folks!

I'm trying to find aftermarket rev counter (tachometer) for the XT660R but I couldn't. It's a shame that a bike doesn't come with one from the factory !!!

Besides, I'm looking for a engine guard (the one that goes UNDER the engine to prevent damages to the exhaust pipes).

Any tips?

Thanks

Not specificaly for the XT,people who have fitted a tacho have done so by adapting units for other applications. These units from SPA can be made to fit the bike,i have also heard of a tacho unit for small boats made by an american company that will also be suitable for motorcycles, but the name escapes me !

What about fitting a revcounter from MT-03?

Maybe possible to combine the xt660 wiring with that?

What about something like this? I know its not a proper tacho, but it might give you some indication of where you are in the rev range?

That datatool thingy looks like it would be a fine tacho subsitute, I'm quite tempted to get one.

You can pick them out for about 70, i'm sure it wouldn't be too difficult to make a DIY one. :066:
