I have a radiator guard but it won't fit properly. The triple tree touches it at its extremes. I think it can be solved with a little mod to the guard.

Meanwhile i've been farkling my bike bit by bit:

a tail tidy from S-moto. Quality of the fit is ok-ish, but could be better. The way the taillight is mounted isnt as sturdy as the original. But the looks i like.
Basically it's just a bent piece of metal plate. There isn't any brace like on the original bracket. I think this can be an advantage. The tail is flexible and wont suffer from the constant vibrations from the single engine.

The weight savings are not as huge as i expected. It's about 600gr. The original isn't that heavy:

Also i put on my Exan exhaust. I had some work on getting the link pipe to fit properly to the header. It was able to move easily.
Thanks to a tip from Pleiades i used a bit of Bosal Exhaust Gasket Paste. And i made sure the clamp was properly positioned before fastening. Now it's tight as a maiden....

All i have to do now before i move it out of my appartment, is close the gap left by removing the original exhaust. Unfortunatly, Exan doesnt provide a plate to close the gap in the undertray. So i will fabricate one myself out of a thin sheet of aluminium.

Furthermore i mounted fork air bleeders from MotionPro. KTM forks can build up air pressure, which in turn can cause the fork seals to start bleeding. This mod makes it easy to air bleed the forks after each ride. Just press the button and you'll hear some air escape. Simple mod, which will ad a little to the reliability

I found a GPS Zumo 660 mount on Ebay. It was quite a lot cheaper then the SW-Motech alternative, so i went for it. I'm happy with the result:

and today my Givi windscreen arrived. It's about 10cm higher then the original. Hopefully this will make the air flow better for me (1.90m), because with the standard screen it was a bit annoying.

Nice going there! Got myself a Tenere a week ago as well and I would love to hear your experience with the taller screen. I am same height as you, 190, and currently unable to drive visor open because the wind gets directed straight to my eyes.

I put on some "new" tires, since the original Siracs were nearly done. I decided to go for some Anakee 3 tires. I was able to find a hardly used pair second hand. In June i'm going on a trip to Andorra and do some light allroading. Later on i'll go for the TKC70 or Heidenau K60s for my trip to the Hard Alpi Tour in Italy.

It was the first time i swapped tires myself. I had a kit from BestRest, BeadBreakr. A handy tool to change/fix tires on the road. I had it since 2011 for a trip through Africa. Luckily i didnt have a flat there, but i was also stupid/brave not to try the kit before i left on my trip :)

The changing of the tire went fine, but getting the axle in/out of the wheel proved to be hard. I found out a bush in the wheel was somehow the culprit. I sanded it down a bit and now the axle slides in without a bang.
Also i changed the drive cushions, they were pretty worn. Also i could see the studs wearing, despite being covered by the cushions.

With the front tire, i could get the bead to seat. I tried a strap, different lubes, aircompressor and so forth. Then i decided to get it done at a shop and get a new tube fixed, since the valve was getting a bit rusty. I should've gotten new tubes anyway, but i forgot and wanted to get the bike riding :)

So now all is on. With a friend i ran the bike down the stairs and now it's in the garage again. Had my first short ride yesterday, felt good! But i need to double check everything, if it's properly tightened and working before my trip. So i'll be giving it a proper shakedown soon.

I did a short ride yesterday. Had to adjust idle speed, because engine would stall after twisting the throttle at idle. It's at 1500 rpm now.
Also put in a CR8EIX Iridium plug, it had a CR7EIX plug. Havent noticed a difference, but will swap back soon and see the effect.

Also i booked a dyno run, to see if the bike is properly fueled after my mods. Hopefully i wont forget to film the run :)

Still have some work to do on the handlebars. There's some nasty vibrations i want to get rid of. Also i need to reposition the bars so i can fit the barkbuster handguards without them interfering with the windscreen.

The bike needs to be done by the end of the month, because then i'll leave for Andorra :o

The CR8EIX iridium seems to be the correct plug for me.

I changed back recently to the original spec CR7E for a bit of a test and very quickly put the iridium back in.

It really does make a difference for me, but maybe because mine was dyno tuned with the iridium plug.
