Really enjoying this thread. Bike looks great now. A very quick and effective cure for the choppiness at small throttle openings is the throttle grip mod by Bilgebay shown some years ago. I did it to my XTZ last night, went for a spin and it's like a new bike. The mod is on the main mod list now. SEARCH. It's a 20 min job.

I've spotted it before, but keep forgetting putting it on my 2do list :)

will do this weekend

I modified the throttle tube and did a short ride, didn't notice that much yet. But it should be noticeable once I ride offroad in first gear. That has always been snatchy.

I also replaced the yoke nut for one that has a head suitable for a socket instead of a custom kind of wrench Attachment 6682

Because my bike has a different yoke and triple tree, it also has a modified steering stem.
If I'm correct, the standard size of the yoke nut is M22 x 1.0.

But I had to get a M24 x 1.0 of eBay. So apparently I have a completely custom steering stem.
I can use a regular 30mm socket now

Really good thread , have been following with interest for some time now and just wanted to how nice it has been to follow your journey and how inspirational it has been..

I bought a tool tube of another inmate and mounted it to my bike. I couldn't help but 'improving' the concept. When I put some valuable tools in there, I want to be able to leave my bike without worrying they'll be taken.

So I found a solution. I used a cable mounted to the pannier tank and tieing it with a lock to the tube cover

Also I mounted the pivot pegs in the lowered position. I just found out by accident they have that option. It's just about one cm, but every bit helps when you're 1.90 standing on your bike.
No photos because there isn't much to see about it

Saturday I will do the final checks and Monday I'll take the bike to the shipping company to take it to Spain for my coming trip...

How do you lower the pivot pegs? I like owed at it but couldn't figure out how it was done...many pics?
