PC 5 question

Hey everyone,

Well Santa is being good to me this year and I've found out I've a pc5 coming my way. I know there are maps available on the supporters area so that's something for the new year.

My question is. I've been tweeking the bike making changes to the tps, co, and the kev mod, I know I need to turn the kev mod off but will I need to return the co and tps back to their original settings?

Also it being a 2006 model can I program the PC within the closed loop?

If you fit a Power Commander than first thing you do is remove the Kev mod, and sell it on here (once you become a supporter) then you shouldn't need to alter the TPS or or the CO because those issues before you adjust them will remain unless the bike is custom mapped by a certified Dyno Center who will take care of those adjustments.

Here's a good will advice to you, before you part with your cash check the best deal on BR Tuning (UK) rest assured I am not related in anyway with them, I don't get commissions from them, it's just that they offer the cheapest deals nationwide, you'll find them at this link: http://www.brspecialtuning.co.uk/Power%20commander.htm

Leave your CO and TPS where it is for now.

Being a 2006 model there is no closed loop! ;) The PCV's map can have complete control over the fuelling at all throttle openings/engine speeds.

cheers guys,

Santa had got it for me from OTR.

I've been asking local bikers and it seems no one can give offer any advice on where to go to get it tuned in my area. If i can't find some one local i may have a crack with the auto tune. i'd just either need to get a 07+ header or get someone to make the relavent changes to my existing header.

I got mine from OTR. With the exchange rate how it is at the moment they are hard to beat. With the 10% discount, BR Special Tuning come in at about the same price.

SDC Performance in Stevenage are highly recommended for Dyno work:

Hell, that's blooming cheap!

Simon 01-12-14 21:35

I guess Dynojet will charge what they think they can get away with in the given market.

Kev 02-12-14 12:21

Lucky in Oz we don't pay any import duty or taxes below a $1000.00, so most of us import from the US, a PCV here in Oz is worth $450 & $280.00 including postage from the US for the exact same part.

ok i've got the pc5 ready to fit tomorrow, i'm just going to go through the software tonight after dowloaing all the maps from dyno jet, but i noticed all those maps are in PC3 format? will they still work? if not can they be made to work?
