The PC software opens and converts PC3 to PCV.

My XT is off to the dyno centre on Saturday for map tweaking and I'm also going to discuss a fuel economy map.

I do a fair bit of touring, a lot of which is boring motorway work (to get somewhere far away requires a lot of miles to be done before the interesting stuff starts) - I want to be able to switch to a map that saves me money whilst on the motorway and be able to switch back to the "fun" map when I get there.

We shall see!

Just a cautionary note regarding importing PC3 maps into the PCV software...

I, like many others, have never found the "File">"Import PC3USB Map" feature works too reliably; you can often get errors, particularly at the point where you try and save the imported map as a .pvm file. Basically all the import does is just reformat the cells to the PCV matrix and fills in the new 15% throttle position in the PCV map with a copy of whatever was/is the 10% trim.

Generally I've had more success by highlighting and copying the 0-10% cells in the PC3USB map, opening the PCV "Zero" map and pasting the them into it. Repeat with the 20-100% cells and manually add your own 15% trims, either by copying the 10% ones or averaging the 10 and 20% figures. You can then rename the "zero" map and save it as a PCV compatible .pvm file.

Basically, if you have trouble using the "import" tool, then try the copy and paste method.

I didn't seem to have a problem importing a PC3 map. Perhaps I was lucky.

Update your PCV to the latest firmware: the latest firmware is V1.10.6
