Radiator Guards
 

Hi all,

I�ve had the OK from the mods to post this as some of you might be interested. I�ve started designing and making parts for the XT and have manufactured radiator guards in 3 different designs. I tested one of my radiator guards on a recent trip to Morocco so I know it does the job.

If you are interested in one then either PM me or reply to this thread to let me know. By registering your interest you�re not committing to a sale or anything, I just want to get a rough idea of how many (if any!) I should make. If I get enough interest, I�ll make up a batch and get back to you to see if you would like to buy one.

All the guards are laser cut from 1.5mm thick stainless steel. They can either be polished to a near mirror finish or powder coated satin black (other colours are available). All the guards will be supplied with stainless steel screws and aluminium spacers to attach to the bike.

P+P will be �5.00 in the UK for recorded delivery. I�m happy to post internationally but you�ll have to let me know where you are and I�ll get a postage estimate.

If anyone wants the standard polished guard I�ve got one spare ready to post, but all the other guards are accounted for. I can also make the guards with a different logo or lettering if you want something individual, but that will cost a little bit extra.

Great looking bit of kit mate and fancy one of the S/S dakar ones but will have to wait till the new year :blob1:

I've bought a 125 cityfly over here for my daughter and will be taking it over to the Uck in Feb and will probably throw one of my bikes on the trailer for a play out over there.
Shes based in Manchester so not to far apart for a hook up maybe

the thought of being stranded in the mountains AGAIN with a busted radiator Crosses my mind a lot. This would definitely help to eliminate those concerns. How is payment to be made?

Once I've got an idea of how many people want one (give it a week or so) I'll make a batch. Once they are finished I'll check with those who have asked still want one and send payment details - you can either choose paypal or bank transfer whichever is easiest for you.

I've got a list of which radiator guards people want so if you've asked for one then you are on it. I'm going to start manufacturing a batch of these on monday (16th Dec) so if you haven't already asked, let me know if you want one.

Sorry to the XT660X and R owners! It's on my to do list and I'll be looking to manufacture some X and R rad guards after Christmas.

Hi.
Tenere black satin please

As an aside....I was able to see that these radiator guards worked well on a ride out to Morocco with Alistair...There's nothing like Maroc to 'shake down' a moto and vibrate it to bits especially on km after km of corrugations that'll shake your teeth out.

The radiator guard stayed put and at no time was there any problem with same.


Alistair's a top bloke and will help you out in any way he can...Good bit of kit IMO.

Hi I have ordered one but my bike is the xt 600 r regards mick.

Mick, unfortunately these rad guards are for the XT660Z. I'm looking at doing them for the the X and R soon.

Quick update....

All rad guards now cut. In process of being finished with some being sent to powder coaters next week (although my powder coater probably won't start till just after Christmas). Once completed and ready to post I'll pm those who were interested and on my list.
