A lot of KTMs that don't have expansion tanks just dump the vented/expanded coolant on the ground - no coolant recovery at all. The two owners I know with EXCs have both fitted aftermarket tanks like this...

No reason (I guess) why you couldn't fit/make something similar, but where would/could you put it?

Do you not like the OEM tail light?...i think it looks great :)

i must admit though im amazed a company hasn't made a nice, small and light weight tail tidy for the Ten! I know OTR have but im not sure its legal in the UK??

I would love to put my Ten on a diet....i honestly think if the bike was a little lighter it would be the perfect bike. now....how can i shave some weight off it :)

No i don't like the tail end. When i took it off i offered up a KTM EXC mudguard /light unit almost a good fit angel of the number plate is a bit high will have another go got to find a stop tail light bulb hold.Fueling a bit out may restrict the pipe more.:gsmile:

i said a NICE tail tidy....:001: :001: (that ones horrid)

Mort: overall the back end of the Ten isnt the nicest is it...but, i do like the vertical LED tail lights.

What i dont like is when doing jobs to the back wheel and constantly smacking your head of the number plate or number plate hanger! :(

If you were to make your own, what would you use? you wouldnt want to make it any heavier than the standard.

I concur, but then, I've never seen a tail tidy look right on any bike, they all look a bit bolted on. As long as we have huge plates (here in blighty), the rear is always going to be illegal, or look out of place.

The best I've seen on the Ten is where people have cut down the tail themselves, some good, some not-so-good. There is a plan somewhere on here for a combined plate and light holder that fits to the cut down rear..... one of our Austrailian friends made it I think.

How much do you think the expansion tank weighs? As a proportion of the 190kg odd bike weight? :D
