Brand new 07.. 95MPH, too scared to twist anymore. Still running in. Getting tips and hints for the mod session that im about to get on. Great through roundabouts and twisties though! :hug[1]:

like the avatar :D

My speedo against GPS shows constant 6% error. so 53km/h is 50, 106km/h is 100 etc. 164km/h sitting up or lying down, then KEV mod and stage 1 DNA 172km/h and ran out of road, it's better.
|
The highest I've seen was 175km/h on the GPS. Not lying flat on the tank either! :D
|
My highest was 174km on the race track, crouched ehind the screen and the bike was stock standard with a half worn pilot power, felt like it could go more but ran out of road. I found the bike very stable also at that speed
|
Excellent report Mitch
|
I've had my XTX up to 103mph on my own and 2 up. Not very comfy at that speed.
I shat myself when my cousin came past me at 158mph on his Aprilia Truno. BTW he struggled to keep up with me through the twisties later on though. |
180 km/hr. with pwr cmd ,dna stg1 + 2,full exhaust.Still stable at that speed and sitting far back on seat.:041:
|
my first attempt on my '07 xtx (1300 km on the ODO).. did 160Km (100mph) when run out of road. Not much comfortable though as it was a bit windy and my bike was shaking a bit:rant2: . All stock, no mods yet.
|
111mph holding the throttle staedy , try to squeaze any more and the rev limiter cuts me back (spoil sport).
|
Topspead
I Have A 660r. Today I Had It Up To 165 But Slowed Down As The Bike Started To Wobble Slightly. It Couled Go More As I Still Had Not Had It Fully Pinned. I Did Not Want To Be Scraped Off The Tarmac Today. Ill Give It Another Bash On A Less Windy Day.

hi guys,
a month ago with 1300 km on the clock, I managed 160 Km/h (100 mph). Last week with 2000 Km on the clock and quite loaded --back case, tank bag plus a bag on my back-- I was so happy seeing 176 Km/h (110 mph) when I ran out of road.I would definitely do 180 Km/h.. I could tell that my baby wanted more !!! |
I notice most of you have been getting 110+ out of your bikes so thought i would give mine a blast and only managed to get 100mph out of mine last night.
Andy |
bebbs where you doing the old crotch rocket position of arse up and face in the tank stuff. I have the XTR and at the moment have only been up to 90mph,its ok rock steady but am one of these people who is not worried about top speed its all about the cornering.
|
I hit on XTX 174kmh:smilies0346: on the motorway with the straight road and weak wind outside, XTX equipped with Leo Vince pipes only.

No photoshop here.
luckily I can record my top speed with my Speedo healer & highest rev counter speed. This was last weekend with my mates. 15/47 sprockets, the bike had no more. With 15/45 sprocket I could see 175KMH, never seen more then that on my bike. http://i201.photobucket.com/albums/a...x/DSCF2037.jpg |
Kev, but you've got better acceleration with these sprockets, do'nt you?:dontknow:
|

The only draw back with the 47 sprocket is high speed freeway cruising. There again in Oz the highest speed we can sit at is 70MPH, HA HA. I tried the 14 tooth & found it made the bike rev to high for my liking & settled on the 47 rear sprocket. 1 tooth on the front is equal to 3 on the rear. By going bigger on the rear sprocket there is more leverage to turn the wheel with less strain on the chain, the chain should last longer. That's my theory anyway. |
Must admit 100mph is plenty fast enough and i don`t see me driving at those speeds anyway, was just curiouse as to how fast it would go.
And i was not crouching down on the bike just riding in normal upright position which was quite hard work to be honest. Andy |

I see. If I want to lift the front wheel in second I need to use the clutch. The top speed, that you showed above is similar as mine. For my usage are standart sprockets good solution.:026: |
I agree with you Bebbs. I do not run mine to top end very often, that's why I changed my gearing to the 47 rear sprocket.
I have more fun in the twistys with max speeds up to 70MPH. You must also remember my bike produces just over 53HP on the Dyno & would contribute to the wheel lifting in 2nd |

You've got it well tuned, I've just mounted Leo Vince pipes and thinking about more improvement, (it depends on money). I do'nt wanna play with gears, because I do'nt have experience in this area hence I would not be so happy to be the slowest thing on motorway:icon_scoot[1]: |
top speed
Top speed out of my standard 07 XTX660X is 109mph, on the flat no wind.
Jason |
Kev.... Ma wheel lifts in second like yours...
You must also remember my bike produces just over 53HP on the Dyno & would contribute to the wheel lifting in 2nd but it also lifts in Thrird Fourth an sometimes fith....lol |

Its not due to "weight shifting" is it??????????:hahaha[1]: I could probably do that too:naka: |

Update:- I can now quite easily get upto 111mph hitting the limiter in a surprisingly short space of time! but I am laying on the tank all the way up the gears, you may look like a bit of a numpty but try it on a decent bit of road the speedo flys up! |
Yep can understand what you mean had to do a race start today from a set of lights (couldnt be arsed to wait 3 turns). Next thing i looked down and i was at 90mph and leaning over the front of the bike racer style still trying to find a 6th gear but couldnt so backed off.:YellowCrazy_J8GDC6:
|
Top speed for me was 163km/h until i removed the baffles from my GYT-R cans. Same stretch of road next day and It showed 176km/h.
|
I've had 107 mph out of mine. Standard cans with kev's fuel mod and airbox mod. No rev limiter yet!?
|
161 kph with luggage. 173 kph without.
Speeds verified by Garmin GPS, not XTR speedo which reads +8% |
ive had 107mph outter mine
|
Finaly got brave enough to spank the beast today the road was empty on the way to work 101 mph I backed off then still got under a 1000 miles on the clock!
|
im skin and bone and the clock often hit 120 mph ,i now run Avon Distanzias and lucky if i see 105 mph after miles of trying.Like Tony im glad its slow more chance of keepin D/L cheers johnno
|
172kph, always on straight road, no matter what I try...
|
105mph/170kph not hit the rev limiter yet.

Flat highway road - NO wind at all that day - 181 Km/h (113 mph) ! :047: Totally stable no worries at all..felt it would go a bit more :smilies1349: I LOVED IT!!! :yahoo: |
189Km/h downhill no wind ,but it usually makes 183Km/h........:066::066:

I saw 108 on the clock (guess 100 actual) last Sunday on the way back from the Ace. At my size I cannot lie flat on the tank and my weight (24st7lb) means I am 2-up all the time.
The bike has PCIII (CaptMoto's second map feels best), stage I&II, CCC oval longs (baffles in) and standard 15/45 with fairly new Distanzias. I still maintain that the R is slightly faster than the X as a result of the reduced rolling-resistance of the tyres when fitted with the road tyres. The revolutions limiter did cut in at the end of fourth gear but did not in fifth although the bike seemed to be at the end of its breath. disclaimer: all the above was on private roads and/or measured in kilometers per hour. edit: no wander or speed wobble at any speed. |
