Have a look at Wolfman soft luggage.

I'm really impressed with mine, top quality, hand made in the USA (not China like almost everything else), loads of fitting options and flexibility. Check out their panniers and saddle bags, particularly the expedition range and also Rolie bag system, an excellent, cheaper alternative to Kriega.

I've got them through my local dealer for 126 the pair.

I must add, I've got these to fit to my TT racks, sometimes I don't want hard boxes. The Zega's are good, but I fall into the school of thought that neither hard or soft is best, there is best for the job in hand, might be hard or soft....

I'm also in the process of making a solid in-fill for the TT racks to carry soft luggage - best of both worlds.

do you need any rails with the wolfman for the tenere
cheers ta

I found the Cameron Barker panniers on a French site called motoblouz.com for 47 euros + p&p. I'd order them myself but I don't speak a word of French! Also I don't know how much the postage would cost or even they would send them to the UK. If someone is able to find out the above, please let me know! :signthankspin: Maybe we can do a group order if enough people are interested.

The black exhaust bits you can see are a protective shell over the hot bits. Throwovers work fine, but you'll find that you will probably damage the finish of the black bits. I took mine off and repainted them the last time I did some remedial work.

You could probably made a simple metal frame to hold the throwovers off the paintwork.

ok cheers tim, i think i have narrowed it down to the oxford or the wolfman set. so many choices my head hurts

stoic bloke 01-07-12 23:36

I've no idea of the oxford kit there was a review on the hubb a while ago http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/hub...age-rt30-58864

the wolfman gear I have seen in action, extremely robust, well designed/ made, fits really well, I'm really considering a set as i managed to wear out a pair of hg rollbags I was using as panniers.

also i am considering the giantloop gear as I'm going to start using the exc for the more extreme camping trips

Have a look at the Newly designed and marketed by Adventure-spec soft panniers!
They have some excellent features and the design is superb.....and yes I've seen them in the flesh!
They are on my shopping list!

Good find Steve - Having a read down the write up, if they meet everything that is said then they are going to be a big winner.

Do they have enough strapping to fit over the seat AND sit down onto pannier racks ? The Ten is a narrow bike at the back and Walter usually rides a BMW, so I would imaging they do.

At 350 they are priced well, under the Kriega stuff by 140 ish.

I have followed Walter's development of these closely. And after considering many alternatives (Wolfman Teton, Andy Strapz, Steel Pony, Kriega Overlander, Giantloop, ...) I intend to get me a set of Magadans.
They are pricey, but in my book they are a next generation improved Andy Strapz/Steel Pony.
You do need a rack for them, otherwise they'll end up in the rear wheel.

@GULGO: the overseat straps are fully adjustable and considering the width of Walter's own modified X with the custom rack and additional rear tank they should be plenty long enough for the Ten.
