its 08am man...whats got into you!!!( but i'm tempted!)
would you bother ensuring the oil is flowing ( releasing the bleed nut)?- I used to do this on other XTs

ahhh..I'm an hour ahead of you...not that that matters...I'll wait until this afternoon!!!

As for bleed...I never bother and have suffered no ill effects...

Did mine yesterday, quite an easy job for me
3 L of oil came out, and filled it again, also used 3 L again
6607 km, wrote the km's on filter with marker, so next time I will lnow when I did it the last time

great article one of the best pictorials I have seen. But, I would underline or bold or capitalise the part about using a cutoff container or something to catch the spurting oil from the front tank drain plug. I didnt realise the amount of pressure behind that plug and when I removed it I couldn't catch it all because I was only using a smallish funnel. Consequently I have oil all over my front wheel and disc and on my driveway. One to catch out the newbies I suppose, but would make that VERY CLEAR to avoid others having to go thru the same ****.
