I must admit, I've never run a tire that gives me as much confidence in the wet as my Maxxis. Can't wait to wear it out though so I can try out the Avons! |
Zamb, to my knowledge and also from looking at their official website, the Distanzia have not being replaced, go and have a look at the website link I posted on the first post of this thread.
Is that dealer trying to shifts tyres he is porbably lumbered with?? Phone Avon Uk and see if they confirm that the distanzia have been replaced. Also 4 people here who are using them (me, MrT, Badga and someone else I can't remember) are having mileages in excees of 3500-3700 on the rear ones, which means they do what they claim. |

170ish for the pair at Essential Rubber, Ride in, Ride Out. Appreciate it may not be local to you though. Almost embarrased to say how long mine have lasted - you'd think I was carrying the bike to work..:053: |

I'm hoping I can eke 2000 out of my new rear so that I can go for a set of cut slicks for the summer... Maxxis do a very tasty pair... http://www.aaa-racing.com/products.a...e%2DCut+Slicks |
John, I have a mate of mine on londonbikers with a Husaberg he fit a set of those lovely slick ones and he told me that in 300 - 400 miles they were... totally mullered
|
I have done 4000km on my contis and they already seem to be at the end of their life. Had no problems with them and are quite cheap (I also bought them at busters)

Undoubtedly, he loved them but he did say unless you are rich and can afford them you are in for a shock as to how quickly they disintegrate.

I finally got hold On Two Wheels and I was quoted 220 to 230 for a set of Avon Distanzias, for fitting in Bromley, Kent (because it is closer for them than Guildford). That is pretty much the same price as my local tyre place. I might have to try the other place that Richard W was talking about.
