Still loving my airhawk, went for the medium cruiser and it fits well. The straps seemed a little lightweight so bought a length of 20mm velcro off ebay for a quid, did the trick.
I leave it on when I'm trail riding but stand up when off road so it's not really a consideration. Just need to sort the turbulence now..... |
at the dealer in belgium they have below onces in stock
I tested the medium and small, but the medium is to wide already and the small, is yes like you would guess , to small, nothing mentioned about cruiser or tourer ... those who have the medium, does it look like the one on below url ? http://www.rad.eu/nl/c/x/346-zitkussens-/b90-airhawk |
An alternative perhaps?
I saw these accessory seats at a bike show in France. They are made from a strange 3D fiber (not a foam or gel of any kind) and covered with a tough synthetic material and really looked that they would work. I had a sit on the test bike both with and without the seat and it made quite a difference to comfort. They are also available with an add-on heater, something that would be difficult with an Airhawk. plus you don't have to blow it up or worry about a leak or a puncture half way through a long trip.

Hi,
i am a very happy chap! Out today for the first time on my Airhawk. You just have to try one of these! I got the large one and thought it was too big. But once on it and the right amount of air it it is just bliss. The amazing thing is how little air is actually needed. Ready for the long trip to Scotland. Rob |

I understand you. 9000 miles in 19 days - couldn't have done it without the AirHawk, it makes 500 miles a day, day after day easily possible. I don't use it for day-to-day stuff though. |
Here some piccies of the Large Airhawk(the Medium was too wide!) on my Tenere, installed today and done some km's to try it out. Hmm, fiddlin' with the right amount of air; seating is a bit higher, kinda gettin' used to it. Front strap is too long, back strap is just right.

I am not the aesthetic type so my Airhawk and sheepskin reside in a black bin bag and i use a cargo net to secure it to the seat. It doesna get wet and is easy to remove in thieving scumbag areas (are there many that are not:))
As it is big wedge I look after its safety as once used never forgotten :) |
airhawk

Yep, it is: Airhawk Lite, large 46cmx30cm.

Hi,
I found that if the seat hight is noticeably higher with the Airhawk there is already too much air in it. If your backside just touches the centre of the seat the remaining air is pushed to the sides and widens the seat nicely and offers good support. This way your seat height is not really increased and your ride is not wobbly anymore. Good stuff anyhow. Rob |
