Are they mad?
Next step was to contact an American Shop. First class service so far and 110 for a large one, delivered!
Ordered yesterday and has today already left the US. Should be in the UK today. That means that the UK courier will deliver towards the end of next week i guess.
Keep you posted how it is coming on.
If you are interested, the shop was Ghost Motorcycles and the contact is Howard

Oh yes, it is. The plastic once are way cheaper. Lets just wait and see what happens next. The US postal service can't track it at the moment. Hmmm?
Sure it will turn up again.

I did the same a few years ago. Best thing I have done to overcome big miles pain. The exchange rate was pretty good at the time but even at just over the ton they are worth it. Get the neoprene one as it is repairable. I bought a sheepskin to fit for 5 locally (plentiful up here:)) and the reside in a bin bag for dryness and to look a bit less conspicuous. Large touring as the outer bits just fold if it's a bit big and if you ever buy a Harley it will fit:)

Been using a sheep skin for several years now, in wind or rain. Just wondering how effective the Airhawk will be with a sheep skin on top?
Seat got out of UK customs this afternoon. Goodyyyy!

The Airhawk was/is good and the sheepskin made it that bit better:) I hold mine onto the seat with a cargo net as the straps are a PIA if you want to remove it at stops etc. I am not too bothered about the straps of the cargo net on the bike but the more cosmetically sensitive may not like that. I guess that's why I bought a bike like an XTR....

Best I have done is approx 750 on a GS and my arse was not crippled by that as it was before. If I now ride without it any seat feels like a plank o wood. Must be getting old or wise... or both:)

Dad got an air hawk and used it once or twice, very comfy and without the straps if youve got a leather seat the airhawk sticks very nicely.

They are very expensive and you should shop around, my dad got his from canada and it worked out at being a good bit cheaper.

Yep, even with the unfavourable exchange rate you will find things a bit cheaper from North America. I used a US shop and have found the service and general attitude of US retail to be excellent and often a fair bit better than the UK.

It was favourably labelled for customs also as you may/can get stung by that but often things arrive without intervention:)

Any idea which Airhawk seat suits best for a WR400F and the Ten?
Looking for one...

My Wife uses the medium square shaped airhawk on the rear when we are riding two-up, and I use it sometimes for solo rides of more than one day. The longest trip thus far on the Ten was Paris to the Arctic Circle and back - 7,000km over 21 days last summer. For my significant other it was a bum saver and certainly worth the investment for the comfort. I purchased it from the European distributor in Sweden via direct money transfer. No problems.

Just got my Airhawk seat. Cannot wait to try it as i did a tour around North devon and back to Corwall yesterday. 350 miles and my backside was shot to pieces. Shame i am gone away for 3 weeks work in N.I. again. No chance to try it out properly.
One issue was a letter from UK customs. They wanted 27.01 before releasing the parcel. Arguing the point was no option. Had to pay up. Still the seat was a lot cheaper than buying one in the UK or even second hand on Ebay.
Highly recommend Ghost Motorcycle Parts and Accessories in Florida. Howard is the man.
7 days from custom release to local sorting office, not even to the door. That is shocking in 2011!!!

Happy!

Rob
