Congratulations to you both Ray, on both counts, the retirement and placing of the order. I think the point you make about maybe never having the chance again is a crucial one. I'm sure you both must be very excited about the whole thing - it's going to be great for you! All that travel (and in comfort!!) with all those fantastic places to see and wonderful people to meet. When you hit Europe, drop by and say hello, we've plenty of room inside for you and bike and outside for the MH.

As for me ordering a new ST: I don't think it's an option in Oz yet, but even if it was, I feel the 660 defines "adventure tourer' as well as anything. I reckon the ST will be hampered by size, weight and cost, and maintenance costs. Over 20gA? NO WAY.

Yep, we will be attending the HUMM (EDIT should read HU meet Ripley UK) in in June but at the moment we do not know which bike we will take. We have to fit in a trip to Monaco (16th May) for the Formula 1 GP and month in the Isle of Mann for the TT before that.

You'll see this thing parked up at the HUMM, knock on the door and we'll crack open a beer (and any other Inmates on here - Jenny ?).
I have to confess, I feel a bit of a fraud in this as opposed to a tent but I have slept in some God awful places in my time (like in the tree canopy of the Amazon following a capsize and 3 hour swim in the dark) so I can live with it !

did the humm in the area last year, you staying at the hotel?, a few lads camped outside in their vans with no problems though no hook up. we stayed outside puigacerda at camping queixans i highly recommend it, great facilitys resturant/ bar pool etc.get the bikers together and ask for a discount worked for us, 20% off the owner is very helpfull not like some!
